For PG CERTIFICATE COURSE: The courses offered under PG Certificate program will encompassed of 9 months. Under 9 months, the trainees will go 6 months of classroom training and 3 months of internship. The internship will be under different divisions and sub-divisions of COVINTS.

1. The Art of War and Weapon Systems (Historical & Modern)

The world has witnessed a lot of significant and minorwars. There have been incidences when a small-scale army has won the war against rather larger army due to the sharp War Tactics. The trainees will understand the War strategies adopted in ancient world and in Modern times in this short-term course “Art of War”.It integrates with academic perspectives critical military factors from the profession of Defencesuch as doctrine, weaponry, training, technology, and logistics. The ramification is a comprehensible frame of reference to analyze complex strategic problems and formulate strategies to address them. The Art of War and Weapon Systems course will examine the strategic effects of operations, exploring how battlefield outcomes can change the strategic environment

2. International Terrorism, Internet and Mass Media

Media plays a two-side role when it comes to deal with terrorism. On one side it educates people in general on ill effects of terrorism while on other it propagates the agenda of terrorists by publishing and broadcasting the act of terrors and glamorizing it. Not all wars fought on battlefields. They are also, if not foremost, battles for “hearts and minds” that take place in society before a conflict starts, during the conflict, and after it is over, in the memories and narratives about it. Communication and the Media, in this respect, play a crucial role both in and outside the theatre of war against the terrorism. The trainees will study the relation between traditional media, radio, television and Internet with that of Terrorism.

3. Terrorism and National Security

The track examines past and current terrorism, its origins and ideological bases, with particular attention to its relation to political institutions and the criminal justice process. Specific attention is given methods and means of the terrorist, motivations and modus operandi trends and predictability and law enforcement’s multi-faceted reactions to its many devious forms. Legislative efforts to curb the scourge of terrorism are also highlighted. The course then examines strategies and means for addressing these threats, including both military and non-military options. The course goes on to analyze organizational issues and impediments to effective policy coordination. Finally, the course addresses the implications of homeland security challenges and policies for constitutional rights, legal protections, and civil liberties.

4. Radicalization, De-radicalization and Disengagement from Terrorism

Social Experts has found that there has been many reason when young blood adopts the way of becoming a terrorist while some does it intentionally and in full knowledge due to religious fundamentalism under trained fanatics. A sharp and experienced Intelligence expert not only understands these circumstances but also knows how to de-radicalize these youths and disengage them from Act of Terror.The course critically examines theories and the practice of violent radicalization and recruitment, as well as the policies and approaches aimed at countering it. It focuses on “home-grown” radicalization and recruitment into various violent extremist groups such as Al Qaeda, ISIS, LeT, JeM and related movements and networks in India and at International level, but considers other extremist movements, including the far-right.
